With a vehicle as unique as the Rivian, you need a horn that matches its road presence. Unfortunately, the factory Rivian horn is kind of missed the mark. Now you can get a big air horn sound with RealWheelsEV Auxiliary Horn.
Our Horn Upgrade Kit offers a deeper, louder sound that gives you the added safety and the respect you deserve while driving your Rivian. This complete, turn-key Horn Kit was designed exclusively by RealWheels EV team, and allows you to leave the existing Rivian single horn or factory dual horns in place and operational. So ultimately, you get a louder, deeper Air Horn Style with added dual-tone sound!
The kit includes the RealWheels custom mounting bracket, designed specifically for Rivian R1S and R1T, relay, wiring harness, Y-connector, and all necessary hardware. The Horn Upgrade Kit is mounted in a recessed area under the front trunk.
We offer upgrade kits designed for both driver or passenger side factory horn locations.
- Factory dual horns or single driver side uses the standard kit.
- Factory single passenger side horn requires the additional passenger harness.
Please verify your horn's location to ensure proper fitment and select the correct option to purchase. Easiest way to determine if you have a driver or passenger side horn is to look through the bumper grille (see photo in gallery). If you have a horn opening on the drivers side then the standard kit will work (top photo). If both driver and passenger side has a solid plastic cover, then you need to add the passenger wire harness extension (bottom photo).

Thanks @RealWheelsEV, this horn is pretty great. The instructions provided by the seller were perfect - be sure to download the e-copy so you can zoom in on photos. I used a decibel meter app on my iPhone - see snips in videos. The before is 121.0 and the after is 124.6. I have no idea how accurate an iPhone decibel meter is, and I assume there is a lot more to how a horn sounds than decibels. In person this sounds like a night and day difference, and this is the type of sound this truck needs.

I’m 100% positive it saved me from getting backed into in a parking lot. I was pulled in forward so the horn was a far away for the other driver as could be. I really doubt they could’ve heard the old horn.

@RealWheelsEV Just finished installing my new RealWheels second horn. Wow! I think I better hit the gym and start working out so, if I blast my new horn, I can backup what its sayin!!!

Thanks! FYI: my R1T only had one driver side horn. Despite Rivian’s general great engineering, it not only was a bone-head move to remove the other horn, but to have them face directly into the front rain spray from other cars!
From the beginning, I thought this was a huge problem and definitely a safety issue because if someone started to drift into my lane, they would not hear my horn plea!
